Epoxy Flooring

Bavap install a range of industrial and decorative epoxy’s. The epoxy floor systems are suitable for use in commercial kitchens, bakeries, butchers, wineries, nightclubs, medical centres, retail outlets, factories, warehouses and workshops.
Epoxy flooring can also be used in your home. It can be used externally, and looks great on footpaths when covering up repair work that has been done to cracked pathways. Previously, epoxy flooring was used for industrial/commercial purposes but as everything changes over the years so has epoxy flooring. It can be used as a sealer to strengthen and protect a burnished or polished concrete slab or in a bathroom as a floor or wall finish.
Epoxy walls and floors look great in bathrooms as they give a seamless, uniform finish that is very easy to clean.
If you are wanting to change floor finishes in your home, epoxies have many options and do not need depth to install as does concrete. It can be anything from a look-alike polished floor to a marbled-look finish.
They are ideal in garages and many home owners are now opting to install epoxy coatings on garage floors as they are more durable than paint and have a resistance to grease and oil.
Bavap also install epoxy line-marking internally and externally.

Polyurethane

Polyurethane

Polyurethanes have a more industrial floor finish, and are highly recommended over epoxies in some situations.
Many industrial and or commercial kitchens are using polyurethane floors in place of epoxy floors. The biggest difference between the two floor types is heat and chemical resistance. Busy kitchens which are operating all the time may only provide 1-2 years life from an epoxy coating and 8+ years from a polyurethane coating.
Elevated temperatures and fats can be very aggressive to floor coatings. Polyurethane floors have been designed to withstand that problem and we recommend polyurethane floors over epoxy floors when applicable.

Epoxy Coving

Epoxy Coving

Epoxy coving is a resin and sand mix that is installed before epoxy or polyurethane trowel coats and it enables the floor to be hosed out. It creates a seamless transition between floor and wall thus preventing moisture and dirt from building up.
When installing epoxy roll coats for certain jobs, a pencil cove can be installed with an epoxy upturn. Again, this design is for a seamless transition.
Without installing coves, the floor and wall junction would be left with a 90` angle thus allowing the dirt to build up and water to pond.

Epoxy Mortar

Epoxy Mortar

Epoxy mortar screeds are installed under epoxy or polyurethane trowel coats. This system is used instead of a concrete screed and can be installed at minimum 5mm and up to 200mm +.
Epoxy mortar provides a long lasting, hard wearing, high strength floor installed under any flooring.
Epoxy mortars can also be used to replace concrete kerbs. This is ideal in carparks where the corners are small and cars are constantly hitting the kerbs, thus leading to damage to the cars and the kerb.
Bavap removes some of the concrete kerb and installs the mortar mix on a ramp, leaving no edges.
The ramps can be painted over in epoxy with either a colour to blend in or a safety-yellow.
Bavap have installed many of these epoxy kerbs in airports and high-rise parking facilities that have not required repairing since despite vehicles still obviously driving over kerbs.

Waterproofing

After years of doing preparation work for waterproofing companies, we decided it was time to become accredited, licenced applicators ourselves. We will install a full range of membranes from liquid-applied products in wet areas in both commercial and domestic situations to torch-on, bituminous membranes on balconies and roof tops. We install membranes to plant rooms and waterproofing of retaining walls.
Bavap will also attend to the repair of any damaged existing membranes. Bavap use many systems to repair any existing issues to effected areas, injecting and filling cracks and addressing ponding issues.

Epoxy injecting and cementitious repairs

We have an extensive selection of equipment to remove old coatings, adhesives and residues from floors, to remove "humps or highs" in concrete floors or the powdery surface on concrete of a rain-damaged slab. We also use our equipment to prepare concrete surfaces for other flooring trades to install new floor coverings.
Bavap can offer advice on problematic concrete floors. Heights can be corrected by reducing or adding to the concrete. Cracks can be chased, cleaned out and filled. "Drummy" floors can be injected to bond with the substrate.
Epoxy injecting can also be used in concrete walls and can repair blowouts due to reo rust or movement. Contaminates can be sealed into concrete. Whatever the problem, we will find a solution.

Cementitious toppings and levelling

Bavap have the equipment to mechanically clean and etch a surface to provide the best possible physical bond for primers and bonding agents.
Bavap employees have the combined experience of many years successfully installing sand and cement toppings, Polystyrene lightweight toppings and self-levelling products. We install toppings to correct undulations in height, as given by surveyors, and can also create perfectly level floors as in television studios. We can work strictly to RL's and can also "blend" problematic floor levels. We have also worked extensively with rectifying heights/levels on concrete stairs.
When bonding cementitious toppings, we bond with epoxy, allowing no chance for the floor to lift or go “drummy”.
Bavap employees have worked with cementitious floor levellers for years, either directly for contractors or other trades. Bavap also specialises in using levellers as finished products for homes, retail and commercial floors.
